Rise and shine. You tend to be a morning person and like to rise relatively early and not stay up too late. You don’t cope very well when your sleep pattern is disrupted.
This is right one for me (especially that last sentence, as hubby can attest to…) I’m not exactly bouncing off the walls in the morning, and god forbid I don’t get my coffee, but I do like to get up and about even on the weekends. I’m never one to sleep in really late. How did you score??
Meditation room in Albany international airport…so nice! I sat in here and listened to a 10 minute guided meditation off my phone, helps take the sting out of going back to work after an excellent skiing vacation.

NYTimes: “Some studies have suggested that consumption of diet soft drinks may be associated with Type 2 diabetes and development of the condition known as metabolic syndrome — high blood pressure, abdominal obesity and other risk factors. NYTimes: “Brown Fat, Triggered by Cold or Exercise, May Yield a Key to Weight Control”
…so if brown fat burns calories when it is triggered by cold or exercise…then exercising IN the cold is the solution to the obesity epidemic! boom. you’re welcome.
(might be a tough sell, seeing as we can’t even get people to exercise in the comfort of a gym, or when the weather is WARM)
be honest-are you using the holidays as an excuse? this year, resolve to get back on track BEFORE the new year. Ready…set…go!

Most people know to look for BPA-free water bottles these days, but what about household appliances?? Seems like everyone and their mother has a Keurig these days, which led me to wonder whether they are BPA-free—there is boiling hot water getting forced through those little plastic k-cups, so I wasn’t expecting good news, but guess what? I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only are the k-cups BPA- free, but all water reservoirs in machines made after January 2010 are free of BPA as well. Unfortunately the k-cups aren’t recyclable, but they do make a reusable filter that you can put your own coffee in. Perfect!

BPA has been declared a toxic chemical in Canada, and the EU has banned its use in baby bottles. BPA mimics estrogen in the body, so it interferes with normal hormone function—especially of concern in fetuses, infants, and children. It is still commonly found in the US in many many plastic products, as well as the lining of canned foods.
